Hospice of the Golden Isles Celebrates Certified Nursing Assistant Week

June 20, 2023 (Brunswick, Ga.)  Hospice of the Golden Isles celebrated their hardworking and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) during the national week-long celebration from June 15 to June 21. CNAs provide quality care to patients every day, play a vital role in a patient care team, and earn and maintain the highest credentials in their specialty.

Happy Certified Nursing Assistants Week!  Our CNAs are vital to our care team and the important role they play in the well-being of our patients.  I thank them for their compassion, service, and dedication to providing the best quality care each day,” said Paula DiLandro, Executive Director of Hospice of the Golden Isles.

For the last 40 years, the week has begun with a National Day of Appreciation followed by a week-long celebration to recognize the work that CNAs do all year. The CNA profession began during World War I, and these nurses proved themselves to be tireless advocates for the well-being of American soldiers, simultaneously proving themselves praiseworthy for their bravery and strength. They worked in triage in significant areas to treat wounded soldiers and filled positions of acute care in reserve, field, base, and civilian hospitals, all while serving alongside U.S Army nurses.

Hospice of the Golden Isles celebrated with a luncheon where CNAs enjoyed food, gifts, and each other. Paula DiLandro shared a special message of thanks - https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/836299783.
